Today my beau and I met in Madeira for lunch at J.K.'s, our second visit. He works across the river in Covington so it's quite a treat when he makes his way up north for feeding time. The place was filled with a decent turnout of regulars, and the cooks talked baseball while listening to pregame discourse on 700 WLW. The Reds play Chicago at Wrigley at 8:05 tonight and we're down one in the three-game series.
I almost went for the chili cheese fries, but instead I had a four-way with onion and a chili cheese sando with everything. My dearest beloved had a five-way and two chili cheese sandos with everything. Each dish was delivered in Daytona 500 fashion: hot and fast.
J.K.'s is currently running a unique sort of recession special: they buy you a Mega Millions ticket if the check is more than $10.00. (The restaurant doubles as a lotto agent.) As of today, the jackpot is at $155 million. We vow to share our winnings with J.K.'s as thanks for offering such bomb chili and fresh soft buns.
If you go, remember that it's a cash-only establishment. Delish and potentially profitable times await.
