Coney Bowls... different presentations, same awesomeness
Yum... Just got back from a late lunch at the Skyline on Plainfield Road, by the intersection of Plainfield and Hunt.
Their coney bowl is served up in a small bowl with 3 dogs, onions & mustard (if you want), chili and about a pound of shredded cheese!
I sometimes have lunch at another local Skyline, the one on Cornell Road, just east of Reed Hartman.
They serve a coney bowl in a shallower, wider serving bowl, which seems to allow for more chili. I like that one… Continue

Chili was very popular in Texas and in Cincinnati. It contains meat, beans, and chili sauces and powder. History says that chili joints in the early days are cheap and the quality is also poor. Despite its low-class taste in the early days, this dish fed hundreds of people during the depression years. It saved people from hunger....

Watching Bengals football and having Skyline Chili in New York City makes me happy!
I like to say that I'm an Ohio girl at heart and a city girl in my soul.
I've been up here in this crazy city they call New York for over four years now and its definitely become a part of me inside and out...but I sure do miss Cincy. My family, my friends and of course my Skyline Chili.

Just like the real thing!!!!
Cincinnati style chili is definitely prepared a certain way. Lately, I have been curious to see how it tastes vegetarian style. Last night, I went to the grocery store and grabbed everything needed for this adventure. You can see it here play by play! It actually tastes like the real thing!
